We're Moving! We've had some exciting plans in the works and they're finally coming together.
Yes, we're staying in downtown Washburn!
Our new location is just a few short blocks away on the other side of Washburn. This past fall the Trimbos purchased the old Big Top Chautauqua building in collaboration with Wintergreen Remodeling.
Yes, we'll stay in business during the entire moving process!
Because the Trimbos own both buildings, our move can be paced and have minimal disruption to operations. We plan on keeping the retail portion of AdventureUs at 324 W Bayfield St OPEN until the NEW one at 101 W Bayfield St is ready to go.
Yes, we're expanding both our retail and our sewing services!
Our new building has a split level design. While we are not happy with the accessibility issues that stairs create, this design allows both the upper level and lower levels to have plenty of lighting and maintain an inviting atmosphere.
Our upper level will be home to our outdoor-themed boutique and Full Keel Coffee (keep reading for more on that!)
Our lower level will be home to our sewing studio with an open floor plan designed for classes...
Yes, we're planning on having enough space for community gathering and sewing classes!
You heard that right - a major part of this move was born from our passion for creating community spaces. Our current location does not offer the space we need to have a comfortable place to spread out and create. Once we get settled, we plan on rolling back out our FREE Maker's Club and a full list of sewing classes.
Yes, this is ALSO the future home of Jared Trimbo's NEW roastery Full Keel Coffee with the partnerships of Darrin and Amanda Mann.
The upstairs seating area and coffee bar will be a slow evolution. Jared is hard at work getting the roastery at Full Keel Coffee up and going. While he'll be roasting and selling beans as early as April, his plans on offering tastings and serving coffee will be a bit farther on the timeline.
More information on Full Keel Coffee is coming soon! Stay on the lookout.
Yes, we've decided to sell our current location and pass the amazing opportunity to someone else.
This building allowed Amy and her family to be flexible while AdventureUs got off the ground. With a Work Dwelling permit through the City of Washburn, Amy and her family of five made some minor renovations and were allowed to live behind AdventureUs for almost two years while the business got started. The next owners could do the same thing. It's complete with kitchen, full bathroom and a half, laundry hookups, and a one minute walk to Lake Superior. It's an amazing start-up opportunity!
Home to two apartment rentals upstairs, a retail storefront, and a 7 room office space- there is so much potential here!
